Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the latest iteration in its foldable series, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in the United States. With a renewed focus on everyday functionality, the device introduces a slimmer profile and reduced weight, albeit at the cost of some previously included features.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now available in India in three storage variants:
* 12GB + 256GB: Rs 1,74,999
* 12GB + 512GB: Rs 1,86,999
* 16GB + 1TB: Rs 2,16,999
Color variants include Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Silver Shadow.
Weighing 215 grams, the Fold 7 adopts a thinner form factor—8.9 mm when folded, 4.2 mm when unfolded. A redesigned Armor FlexHinge, along with a multi-rail water-drop hinge system, reduces the crease and enhances durability. External protection includes Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the inner frame is constructed from Advanced Armor Aluminum. The internal screen is reinforced with a Titanium layer and a 50% thicker Ultra-Thin Glass.
The outer panel is a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Unfolded, the main display measures 8 inches and uses the same AMOLED 2X technology, delivering up to 2,600 nits peak brightness.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, the Fold 7 supports up to 16GB RAM. It runs One UI 8, based on Android 16, and integrates AI tools such as Circle to Search and Gemini AI. Productivity features include AI Results View in Split and Floating View, Drag-and-Drop for text/images in Multi Window, and tools like Drawing Assist and Writing Assist.
The rear setup includes:
* 200MP main sensor with Quad Pixel AF and OIS
* 12MP ultra-wide lens
* 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom
Front-facing cameras:
* 10MP on the cover screen
* 10MP under-display camera on the internal screen
The primary sensors support sharp, detailed photography across lighting scenarios. Telephoto zoom provides clear close-up shots, while the ultra-wide captures broad perspectives.
The Fold 7 carries a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired charging that reaches 50 per cent in about 30 minutes. Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare are also supported.
Samsung has removed S Pen compatibility and the under-display camera used for video calls, marking a shift in design priorities toward compactness and portability.
